Our Story

The IAVAP is the global authority for Virtual Assistants, committed to advancing the profession thru certification, training and career development.

 

The role of a VA has been around for decades and has started to expand beyond the days of cold-sales and basic administration. Today’s VAs are highly educated, experienced and knowledgeable in a variety of industries, technologies and business processes.

 

Despite the advances in this field, VAs are still viewed and treated as “lower-level” staff. While VAs can do their jobs effectively, there is a cultural gap with Western communication and business politics. The industry is also plagued with many people who claim they are VAs, thinking that a remote job is easy and a way to quick money - this can give VAs a negative reputation.

The IAVAP’s mission is to elevate VA as a career path and educate clients on the value of a VA.  We aim to standardize the requirements that clients seek through certification, training and networking, and provide committed VAs the confidence and knowledge to pursue higher-level roles and salaries that they deserve.

 

Many other professions follow a standardized career path and VAs are no exception!
